4 meditation myths debunked.

Meditation has become a hot topic of late, especially as most of us are trying to incorporate new habits into our lives.

However, there are many myths that come along with it. Have you heard meditation is only for flexible yogis, for the religious, or that it doesn’t work for everyone? Here are four common myths debunked:

1. You have to be flexible. Meditation isn’t about sitting in a full lotus pose. There are many types: walking, chair, or sitting with props supporting you. A little known fact: yoga (as we understand it, vis-a-vis the postures or asanas) was actually intended to help our bodies adjust to sitting in meditation. As such, meditation will become easier with practice, and the sitting practice (if this is your preferred method) might become easier with a bit of stretching or yoga incorporated into your routine.
